Alright people. I’m not all that great when it comes to describing myself, so adjust your expectations accordingly. :) First off, I’m a brand new resident to the state of California (1 more driver to compete with during rush hour). I just moved here from the not-all-that-great state of Tennessee. And in case you’re wondering, yes, I have all of my teeth and no, I don’t know any hillbillies (unfortunately). So far, I’m really enjoying things out here and I’m looking for someone to help me figure out why in the world people like the Lakers (shots fired!). Lol! As you can probably tell, I’m a little on the sarcastic side, but humor’s a big thing with me (courtesy of where I’m from). I’ve been fortunate enough in my life to have an awesome family (and a great cast of friends) and they’ve all helped to shape me into the goofy yet charming person that I am today, especially my parents. They were lucky enough to be married for 37 (!) years before my dad passed away, but throughout my life, they both taught me how to enjoy the little things as well as find humor in just about everything. Obviously, there more to me than any two words can say, though. Being raised in the south, I’ve also inherited a lot of the old fashion values and manners that people associate with a “southern gentleman. ” Think Matthew McConaughey…without the looks…or accent :|. Still, manners (good luck trying to open a door or pull out your own chair), courtesy (I’m a yes|no ma’am|sir kinda guy) and honesty (“A gentleman would be ashamed should his deeds not match his words. " - Confucius) are a big part of who I am. Anyway, the section below is taken from my OKC account since I didn't feel like reinventing the wheel. :), What I’m doing with my life:, Professionally, I'm a Microsoft certified database administrator (DBA), which is a fancy title for someone that just stares at a computer screen all day, but it pays well and has job security. When I'm not staring at a computer screen at work, I'm usually reading (mostly physics, cosmology, or technology-related books), working out, creating culinary masterpieces (or masterfailures), traveling a bit when I get a chance, watching movies (my favorite pastI'me), or relaxing and listening to music. I’m really good at:, Listening, putting things together, sarcasm, knowing when to keep my mouth shut, following directions, cooking, being a perfect gentleman, remembering stuff, and listing things I'm really good at. The first things people usually notice about me:, Well, my eyes are usually the first thing. If not that, then it's usually my smile, sense of humor, physique, or eyebrows (not sure why people focus on them - they're just eyebrows!). After that, it's anybody's guess. The about me section. The place where you describe who you are and what your about. Lol I am sure the narcissists of the community shine here! Others just seriously fail. So what should I put here? What are you interested in? What would I be interested in seeing if I were you? Do you want to know my life up front, or just the cliffs notes? Tricky isn't it? shouldn't be too long, people get bored ... shouldn't be to short because then it seems you have nothing in your life ... well seeing as we are all on here to find someone means not one of you is perfect, so I guess that would be a great place to start talking about myself ... I am not perfect either. Who am I? I am not a billionaire, and if I was, after my family is set, I would just donate the rest, who needs all that money? Just creates more problems anyways if you ask me. Am I outgoing? Well my car broke down once and I ended up finding my way to a hall needing to use the phone for assistance. Seems that a wedding reception was taking place, and before long I was invited to enjoy the evening with a banquet hall full of strangers ... I laughed, danced and met some great people and heard some even better stories that were told by the older crowd ... I went to Seattle and spent a week touring the city on my own, hitting the local bars, seeing the sites, and taking it the appreciation that some people cant just up and do things like that. My personal habits, I am a morning person! However I will not get in your way if you aren't, I will sI'mply make the coffee and let you do your own thing. I keep a clean place ... 90% of the tI'me anyways, come on, some days screw it! My home is open to anyone that needs it, even an enemy ... if you are an enemy, speak little and make it quick. I work out at least 3 days a week at the gym as well as I run as often as I can, I like to stay healthy and active as much as possible. I work as a paramedic and have done so for the past 3 years now. I have had many jobs prior to that including a 4 year term as an electrician, which didn't end so well, however a cute story came from it. I also write quite often, poems, short stories and I am currently finalizing a novel and will work to get that puppy published ... maybe even spark up some Hollywood interest (crosses fingers). I would like to go back to school eventually and I am certain I will at some point. I have a clean background, no crI'minal record, no children, no psycho ex's, no STD's and no drug addictions (not that I didn't dabble here and there in life), What can I bring to a relationship? If you chose to take a path with me, you will get a man and not a boy! I am quite secure with my life and myself. There is nothing worse than an insecure needy person always nipping at your heels, because they are always thinking something is wrong ... yuck! I like to cook, so I am always up for a bottle of wine cooking with my woman always makes for a fun tI'me and a great meal. I will dance with you, like a fool in the living room and I may even sing a bit :), I will be aware of holiday's and special days and will go out of my way to shine for you and make it perfect! I am not a cheater and I don’t go around with my eyes open looking for a better deal. If I am, that means you and I are most likely over, but I will not string you along until I find someone new. I know what it means to love someone ... its not just a word you say 50 tI'mes a day ... its all the little things you do for someone and for yourself over the course of a relationship. I look forward to finding that someone who will fit into my life, I look forward to finding the one I will adore until live takes one of us away.
