I love this quote from Sydney Harris: "When I hear somebody sigh, 'Life is hard, ' I am always tempted to ask, 'Compared to what?'" My own life has been marked by quite a few losses that came close to putting me on the ropes, but I'm still here and haven't given up on making the best of what comes my way. I have another favorite that I'll add by Lauren Bacall: "Looking at yourself in a mirror isn't exactly a study of life. " The world is much more than what has happened to me and I can't undo the past. I have a sense of humor about my own life and an appreciation of the curious little twists, loops and knots that creep into the well planned routes of others. I chuckle at the "knight in shinning armor" syndrome. Mine is pretty dented with a lot of squeaks, a few missing pieces, a lot of loose screws and some rust spots. Most I'mportantly, I've learned when to take it off to be open to what the world may bring. When I’m not traveling I enjoy my tI'me at home. Working around the house with trying to find places for things, clean (a leaf blower does not work by the way), cooking (yes, this guy can cook), planning what I can do with my yard (Hey, I found a use for that leaf blower). I also get some enjoyment window shopping with the hope that I may come across a idea for what I can do here at home. I like to read, watch movies during rainy or snowy days, curl up on the sofa and just cuddle and have a conversation about whatever topics arise. In my free tI'me, I like to play hard whether it’s going boating on the water, playing a round of golf, touch football, or just going away for a long weekend. I love to travel and enjoy the islands in the winter with the beautiful blue/white water and sitting in the sun while enjoying frozen drinks on the beach. Putting my arm around the woman of my dream’s shoulder while we watch the sunset makes the picture complete. I enjoy dressing to the nines to go out for some fine dining or just throwing on a pair of jeans and grabbing a burger. Nothing is ever complicated with me! I have a super group of friends that go back to my school days and we enjoy reminiscing over old tI'mes and talking about new things going on in our lives. I like meeting new people, watching sports and learning as much as I can each and every day. This world is a big book and I want to read as many chapters as I can!
