Hey there! I'm a graduate student at one of universities in D. C. working on an MA in political science. I moved here not too long ago from the Midwest and I'm always interested in meeting new people and trying different things. I'm kinda big on culture -- I love music (indie rock especially, but I like a little bit of everything), watching movies I've never seen before and am an avid reader. I have worked abroad since then as an English teacher and have visited countries on every continent but Latin America. I'd like to travel more in the future but right now I'm focused on getting my degree and either becoming a college professor or a research analyst for the government or an NGO. I am ambitious but I don't focus on career success at the exclusion of everything else; I procrastinate, just like everyone! I'm an old-fashioned romantic so don't be surprised when I wax sentI'mental. I try not to wear my heart on my sleeve, though. I'm open-minded and curious, but I can be shy at first; I do better one-on-one than in huge groups. I don't really have a "type" but the women I have the best relationships with share the same qualities -- smart, fun, interesting and drama-free. I like a woman who is assertive, not because I'm passive, but because life is too short to spend guessing what the other person wants.
