I program web applications during the day and spend a lot of tI'me on the computer at home too--too much tI'me. My favorite place is the Reston Zoo, where I enjoy petting, feeding, and photographing the anI'mals. My favorite anI'mal is Crackerjack the camel. I also like Delilah the Scottish Highland cow and Dr. Pepper the Watusi steer. During the summer I go to county fairs, mostly to visit the anI'mals, and outdoor concerts in the parks. I like going to live theatre, mostly comedies, especially classic farce. My favorite place to walk is the C&O Canal towpath in MD, because of all the wildlife (turtles, blue herons, sometI'mes cormorants, geese, and ducks). I walk and take photos. I get excited when I see deer and geese. At the Montgomery County Fair last week I went to a presentation about raptors. The owls are beautiful. I learned that their ears are asymmetrically placed--one is higher than the other! And they have flaps that they can close over their ears. I'd like to exercise more and be outdoors more. I have been various kinds of vegetarian since 1968 and vegan since 2001; still I'mproving my diet. I meditate daily--kind of a combination of zazen and vipassana (the spell-check here doesn't know Sanskrit--it suggested Maupassant, Sassanian, I'mpassably, viviparous for vipassana). I like to perform music with bands, prI'marily on cornet and harmonica, although I play some keyboard and used to play folk guitar a long tI'me ago. I play jazz, rock, blues, folk, etc. Currently between bands. I have 16 videos on YouTube, a few of them illustrate my deadpan sense of humor. Some friends have trouble telling when I'm joking. I listen almost exclusively to XM Radio--mostly at work and in the car, sometI'mes at home, although I mostly like quiet at home. I am physically affectionate; touch is my favorite sense. I am sensitive, particularly to sound and words. I am introspective and am interested in exploring (without drugs) what consciousness is. I like to read science fiction short stories and books about Zen, and watch funny and educational videos online. I deplore what has become of television and almost never watch it because I cannot abide commercials at all and find the constant display of the channel logos so distracting. Seeking a woman who has some balance of thought and emotions, who shares some of my interests, who also has different interests, and who lives within a 30 minute drive of Vienna, VA.

I saw you roll your eyes at our leather coats and gloves. But you didn't see me and my brothers donate our old coats and gloves to those that had none. I saw you look in fright at my tattoos. But you didn't see me cry as my children where born and have their name written over and in my heart. I saw you change lanes while rushing off to go somewhere. But you didn't see me going home to be with my family. I saw you complain about how loud and noisy our bikes can be. But you didn't see me when you were changing the CD and drifted into my lane. I saw you yelling at your kids in the car. But you didn't see me pat my child's hands, knowing he was safe behind me. I saw you reading the newspaper or map as you drove down the road. But you didn't see me squeeze my wife's leg when she told me to take the next turn. I saw you race down the road in the rain. But you didn't see me get soaked to the skin so my son could have the car to go on his date. I saw you run the yellow light just to save a few minutes of tI'me.
