looking for friendship. i was born in the bronx, ny and lived there till i was 24 when we bought a home in brookfield in71. I am every good at what i ply my mind to. i went to trade school after high school and learned how to repair appliances. i did that about 25 years until one snowy winter my truck spun around 3x on I-84 on my way to new rochelle, ny. i turned around went to the ER and my blood pressure was 220/115. i knew this would be my last year working for the RCA service company ... apon leaving the company i started my own business and the side-job customers put signs up in every store they owned or worked in. i started going to an estate to repair the appliances and became friends with the husband who asked me if i would take care of the airconditioners at 3 nearby hotels he owned. i said sure as i was tightening the distance i wanted to travel to fix appliances. so i started working at a hotel in danbury, Ct and in 2 years was awarded employee of the company, now up to six hotels. due to an injury i had to give up the repair business. it sold for more than i ever thought it would. then the owner of the hotels asked me to work solely for hI'm as i got fired from the hotel for speaking my mind about the G. M 2 days later i was given the keys to the office back as i cleaned it twice a week, with my reinstatement i was only to empty the garbage pails twice and 3 guys from the hotel cleaned it thoroughly 3 days a week. i said i won awards for applying myself to almost perfection as i was in the top 5 best technicians in the country for 11 years in a row and each center around the country let a winner of the top ten technicians got to put their hand in a bag and pull a card out with the prize written on it. let me tell you they weren't cheap. and at the hotels for being employee of the year i won a 10 day trip to disney world for me and my family everything paid for except food. after a while at the estate i started getting tired and out of breath so i went to my P. C. who sent me to a pulminologist who after testing told me i had severe COPD and couldn't work anymore. while i was recovering inthe hospital the boss came every day his wife and kids his mom and dad and brother and sister. they trusted and liked me so much it really touched me deeply i was offered homes to use in different parts of the country depending on the best weather for me. get a check everyweek from the boss and 1 a month from his dad and brother. at i dinner they gave me the owner said his heart speaking said " the company is losing a great maintenance worker, i'm losing an estate manager, an uncle to my grown children and 1 of the few people i could trust". i had keys to his cars houses in ct and vermont where he kept his money. i was given the phone #s of where he be staying on a trip or meeting. if anyone wanted to speak to hI'm while he was away the had to tell me what it was about, then i'd call hI'm at a certain tI'me and give hI'm the messages he would accept and call the VP general managers of his now 31 hotels. we would joke hat we were like the presiden and vice presient of the country. one of us had to be in town at all tI'mes i could say i'm good looking or have a great personality, could keep a trusted secret. but everyone i've dealt with has already done that. despite my illness i got it made. i met more famous people in my tI'me repairing appliances, working in thr hotels and at the town playhouse and at his estate than a person has a right to meet. I am truly blessed and thank GOD FOR HIS BLESSINGS every morning and night
