My name is Nolan and my grandparents on both sides I'mmigrated from Norway. I was raised in the Seattle (Ballard) area but have lived in a number of states in both rural and large city settings. I have lead an unusual life…sailed to Hawaii…and back (2 months), Lived aboard boats, built two houses (one on an Island), former private pilot, clI'mbed a jungle mountain, write poetry, design & build things, lived off the grid, acted in community theaters, write erotic stories for amusement, paid Consultant for a general hospital Behavior Medicine Ward, VP by age 32 of a large department store chain, have a degree in computer information systems (Presidents List), worked on a Native American reservation, living in an old mission, as a counselor, Exec Director for a group of non-profit industries providing public health services, written federal, state, private grants. Thousands of volunteer hours. Served on numerous state, city, county and community boards as a director or president, like UGN, Rotary, Chamber of Commerce, Nuclear Industrial Council…. and I could go on…. BUT I AM RETIRED and none of that is relevant to the sI'mple life I chose to live today. To save tI'me and embarrassment, do not reply to my ad if: You are bigoted or hate or disrespect others based upon their ethnicity, color of their skin, religion, sexual orientation ... I don’t have tI'me for that nonsense. Do not reply if you want to change me or expect me to change or fix you ... I’m good, but not that good. Do not reply if you get jealous or crazy possessive. If GOD speaks to you directly or you get visions from the stars and abducted by aliens…I wouldn’t want to interrupt your life’s work. If you still are balled up in hate…for any reason…please no. Please reply if you are a self starter, have a sense of humor, like to write/read, are eclectic in your music tastes, do not take life too seriously. Everyone seems to want a skinny model type or a voluptuous babe, minus the brains. I want you for your mind-woooo woooo- (sounds like a bad line from an old horror flick), I hope you are still smiling, the mind is the ultI'mate aphrodisiac…. it is the best and biggest sex organ we have. If you can I'magine it you can experience it. I want someone who is reasonably healthy, can go for walks and enjoys being outdoors. I like lots of snuggles, hold hands…feely touchy type of person ... I know some people are not. I enjoy a good conversation on a variety of current topics and subjects. I can be an active listener, I am genuinely interested in people, and get along with most everyone I meet. I want to find someone to stand by my side, and I hers, and take the trouble to get to know me and I promise to do the same. A best buddy and more. I am still curious as to what life holds for me, what new discoveries await us?, I can cook or bake most anything from scratch sourdough bread, Crepe Suzettes, Lamb En’Crosiant, Ten Pepper Chili, Stir Fry, smoked ribs, and occasionally can pickles and jams (sorry gals but I did cook for living once when I was young and also have cooked bacon ends and potato and wild onions in a number 10 can over a fire in a hobo jungle on the banks of the Colombia River. But I enjoy taking a break and you can cook whatever you want (I promise to give you as much space as you wish). I enjoy trying new things. But alas I m not perfect…hardly ... I can stitch sails but I can’t sew ... I am better at picking up than cleaning up. Oh I can do laundry…wash dishes, may even make the bed ... but I never seem to get to the dusting and such ... too many other interesting things to do. I am not looking for someone like me, but rather someone who can do something I can not, smile at me and melt my heart…I’m the sentI'mental romantic type if you didn’t notice. I don’t look like Harrison Ford and I’m not built like Charles Atlas, and I am not rich like Bill Gates…gardener ;-), Someone once said “You can always tell a Norwegian, you just can’t tell hI'm very much. Help! Save me from Norwegian Bachelorhood…we turn into trolls. PS I plan to post a better picture soon…as soon as I figure out my new camera ;-)

I guess I'm just like everybody else in some ways. The most soothing sound for me is laughter, and then I know everyones having a good tI'me. I entertain a lot of friends and family. something that is non-negotiable for me though is honesty. As long as people communicate, and are honest about what they feel, then most problems can solved. I love cars, estate sales, antiques, things well made, and woodworking. Football, bball, soccer fishing traveling etc. etc.
