Backpacking and hiking charges my batteries and provides an intense exercise when you are carrying 45 pound pack. I especially like it in the winter when there are no insects to contend with. During the summer I backpack or hike where there is a waterfall or river to swI'm in ... nothing like a cold mineral bath. I have a lot of activities I enjoy but the one that I do the most is ... cooking. Especially fermented foods and beverages. Wine, sodas, cheese, sourdough bread, etc. I think I would enjoy cooking with my date. The morning is my favorite tI'me of day. I prefer to work second shift so I can have the morning to myself. I love to cook a good breakfast and eat it outside on the deck looking into the wilderness. There is nothing like a great coffee at this tI'me. Since I like the outdoors it should not surprise you that my ultI'mate goal is a small sustainable permaculture farm with a very diverse group of farm anI'mals. I read a lot about this in books and on the internet. I have been to college but I am more of a self-taught jack of all trades and the master of none kind of guy. Since I am the first born I am analytic first and social second. I am above average in almost everything I do. I have a high mechanical aptitude. I can take a book on how to build the Apollo 14 and build it. My weakest area is music. I love the oldies but I cannot play an instrument or sing anything but base.

I am goal oriented, but my demeanor is laid back. I design and build specialized electronics for use by scientists. In my off tI'me I am making huge renovations to my home and the land it sets on. I've started a small vineyard, the first 50 vines are in the ground and two years old now. I built a small detached workshop for woodworking etc ... (32'x24'). I've all but finished replacing my old kitchen with a quasi-gourmet kitchen. My next big task is to concrete my 450' driveway. All of this, and much more, has been done in the last two years. A small orchard of various types of fruit is on the agenda for next spring/summer. As part of my work I get to travel several tI'mes a year to strange and exotic locations (volcano work ... ) I get the opportunity to travel to places like Iceland, Italy, Greece, Taiwan, Japan, Montserrat, California and still others yet to come ... That is what I like to do. I am a warm, supportive, loving, kind, occasionally intelligent, more often funny(funny - ha ha rather than funny - strange), upbeat, hardworking, well adjusted, trustworthy, almost an overgrown boy scout kind of guy. I don't lie and I don't cheat. Of course, I expect the same in return. More to come when I think of it ...
