So how's it going for you? Starting over? Picking up your life one piece at a tI'me like I am? I know ... it's hard. Thought I knew who I was until cancer ended that dream for me in May 2011 and took my husband. Your story probably is different but you are probably looking for happiness, right? As I'm picking up the pieces in my life and putting them back together again I realize they don't fit back together like they used to. I am not the same person I was and what I may be looking for in a guy just might not exist ... So ... this is what I can tell you about myself:, My heart will melt if you have the courage to sing to it ... music dances in my soul. Sounds corney I know, but there is something about a song reflected back at you, a look, eye to eye contact and you just know. OK, dinner ... yes, I can cook. BUT, if you can cook even better. Nothing says love like a guy spending hours in the kitchen cooking his favorite dish for his girl over a bottle of wine. Then we have water or fire ... you pick. If I say water then it could be the beach ... I LOVE the beach and late night strolls. OR it could be fire as in campfire and s'mores. For activities, I love working in my yard, fixing up my house, or shopping for antiques. I love looking for the not so ordinary. Yard sales, flea markets, car shows, art shows, anything near the water, market places, Sunday drives, exploring new places and my camera. I don't like watching sporting events but I enjoy going to them. I love my daughter. The biggest event in my life so far was the birth of my grand daughter in October 2012. She is the light of my life and I will never forget that early morning. But the drama of family you can keep to yourself. Music ... my love of music starts with the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, etc. but I also enjoy listening to the current radio (my favorite Kink). A small dark corner of my heart I keep for Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash and only them, no others allowed. I love most movies - my favorite JRR Tolkien Series. I am a graphic designer for a small community newspaper (no, the newspaper is NOT dead). I also keep a blog which I enjoy. I grew up in Walla Walla, WA. - went to college in Spokane Falls, WA. Hi ... I am your average single mother ... I own my own home and enjoy working in and around it. I've raised two fine sons who are out on their own and I have an 11 year old son at home. While he is my prirority, I have learned that it is all too soon that they are off and on their own. As it is, he has his friends and things to do and spends less and less tI'me at home with me. I can usually keep myself busy with things around the house or find something to do outside the home, I'd like to find that special someone to share these things with or find some new interests to share. I like to do a lot of things ... most of which are not fun to do alone. It's been a few years that I have been single, but my prI'mary concentration was on raising my son, working and going to school. The "man of my dreams" will have children of his own (still at home or grown and out of the house). He will be a non-smoker. Though he might drink on occasion, he should not have a drinking problem or use illegal drugs. He should be willing to communicate ... I realized long ago that I cannot read minds ... though being a woman I still try(and usually fail epically). If we cannot communicate, the odds of making a relationship work are pretty slI'm.
