What really am i supposed to say ... How can mere words sum me up? Anyone for that matter ... I love to turn the odd phrase, not to confuse, but to make you think. I love cars, and I love people. I drink, but I don't like bars. Too much pressure, and not enough fun. It's really hard to have fun on stage, unless your overseas ... I'm a marine (was but once always). Never seen combat ... so please don't ask if I've ever killed anyone ... I've shot things and blown things up, but none of those things were people ... just things. I'm college educated, but highly unfocused ... I think college can screw you up that way. I like philosophy, not to I'mpress, but to discover, and not just be a sheep. I'm very passionate, and I think a good lover ... Never had complaints except from my first love which only complained that I smoked, not that I didn't perform. So yes I'm a smoker, I can smoke outside if you prefer, but I will smoke ... not defiantly, but as a matter of choice, and defiance of the conformity. I really don't like the focus of sex or mating. I just put that out there because for some women it's a deal breaker. I'm malleable and firm at this point in my life. Not going to change, but I can more than accommodate a wide range of interests. You can generally find me warmly gregarious with real people and coldly analytical with abstract ideas. With people that typically means I make friends easily and keep close to them for a long tI'me. With ideas it's not unheard of for me to suddenly change a long held opinion after getting new information or looking at it from a different perspective. Though these two things don't always go well together; e. g. coldly analyzing the reasons for an argument doesn't always go over too well. But I try to put them to good use by using the analytics to learn about many different things, keep a sharp wit, and then, hopefully, being able to talk with nearly anyone about something interesting. Or, if I can't quite manage interesting, perhaps I'll be able to pull off amusing or maybe even charming. If all that fails I'll smile and slink off to the bar or head for the door ... whichever makes for the cleanest escape. That sums up, albeit rather shortly, the two basic aspects of my personality. When I'm being social I'm attentive outgoing, when I'm working or otherwise concentrating on something I'm rather detached. I do tend to lose track of tI'me during the latter, so it may be necessary to throw something at me to get my attention. Things culinary occupy my mind quite a bit. I love to cook, and have a fairly decent repertoire. However, I also love restaurants. Between those to options finding something to eat shouldn't be too much trouble. Reading and music also rate rather highly for me. I enjoy finding new things to read and listen too just as much as reading and listening to the ones I already know. For recreation, I like a lot of different things depending on, well, depending on whatever is going on at the tI'me. Heading outdoors for rock-clI'mbing, biking, or camping might be just the thing for one day and finding a pub to while away the hours in may do for another. Theater, Opera, or the Symphony might be just the thing on yet another day. Almost anytI'me I'm up for games; games of any sort: card games, board games, video games, billiards, darts, bowling, etc. Of course, sometI'mes, it's best to curl up on the couch and raid the DVD collection. At this very moment, I'm readjusting to living in the United States. I've spent the last three and a half years in Europe, specifically the Czech Republic and Norway. I miss the CR terribly, but it is nice to have large bookstores available that I can browse in without being rendered something less than fully literate. Currently, I'm taking a new gig in the Portland area and planning the next phase for my own product launch. That is, between reacquainting myself with Portland, establishing a decent social life, and finding something, or things, to properly balance life and career.
